Welcome to Woodlawn Baptist Child Development Center

Woodlawn Baptist Church is pleased to offer the residents of Catawba County a quality, Christian-based Child Development Center.  Housed in our new preschool building, our center provides clean and spacious rooms and loving, caring teachers to care for your child.  All of our teachers are required to be Christians and exhibit a strong Christian testimony.  If you are looking for Christian-based child care, please call our director, Mrs. Patty Elrod at 828-464-3140 for additional information.

Mission Statement

Our mission is that each individual child will grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically, through the love of Jesus to develop a sense of independence, and will be given oppotunities to develop self-discipline, self-reliance and problem-solving skills.

Program Goals

1. To obtain the highest rated state license possible.
2. For staff to provide develomentally appropriate activities to aid in children's growth.
3. For staff to continue their education through workshops, training sessions, or furthering college education.
4. For children who are a part of our program to come to know Christ as their Savior as result of the childcare ministry.
5. To offer the opportunity to develop positive relationships with adults and other children.
6. For the presence of Jesus to be seen in our words, actions, and deeds.
7. For children to have the opportunity to create, explore the environment, learn problem-solving skills, and personal interaction through first-hand experiences.

Five Star Rating System

Centers are now being rated with the Five Star Rating System.  Centers can receive one to five stars.  Five stars is the best.  Recently, Woodlawn Baptist Child Development Center received five star rating!

0-6 month old class                      2 teachers: 8 children

6-12 month old class                    2 teachers:  8 children

12-18 month old class                   2 teachers: 10 children
