Housed in our new preschool building, our center provides clean and spacious rooms and loving, caring teachers to care for your child. Growing Kids For Christ is the motto and mission for Woodlawn Baptist's Children Ministries. We offer a wide variety of programs geared toward kids from Preschool to 6th grade. "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 NKJV

Our discipleship ministries are pleased to offer our Equipping University. A variety of discipleship classes are offered to equip the believer and to encourage Christian growth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations," Matthew 28:19 NKJV

There aren't many people around you who understand the pain your divorce or separation has caused. To you. Your family. Your friends. That's the reason for DivorceCare. It's a series of support groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you'll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.

The drama ministry is a unique ministry whose sole purpose is to win people to Jesus Christ through the arts, and illustrate to the family of believers and throughout the community that drama can be a fun and positive way to communicate God's Word. We are always looking for more people to join us.

Homebound Ministry

Woodlawn Baptist Church loves those who are homebound. For this reason, we have created a homebound ministry team. This team, comprised of many of our church members, visits our homebound and nursing home members on a weekly basis. Tapes of the worship service and a copy of the Sunday School lesson is made available.

Men's Ministry

The men of America have a great challenge at home and in the workplace. Our Men’s Ministries are designed to help men gain strength for those challenges. We strive to offer a well-rounded program for our men. Bible studies and outing such as golf tournaments and other sports activities provide opportunities for fellowship and encouragement. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…his delight is in the love of the Lord" (Psalm 1:1-2).

While they are known throughout the area for excellence in song, lifting up the name of Jesus Christ is the goal of WBC's worship team each and every Sunday. From the Worship Choir to the Praise Team to Just-If-I'd, the music ministry of Woodlawn weaves a tapestry of song that brings people to the feet of Jesus.

Pastoral Ministry is provided through a combination of staff and by leadership. Each family that joins Woodlawn is assigned a deacon family minister. Our deacons assist our pastor and his staff in caring for the pastoral needs of our growing church family.

At Woodlawn, we believe every child is a gift from God. Because of this we offer families the best in preschool care. Our preschool building has a special entrance for protection from the weather and a special security paging system to alert you of any special needs your child my have during our services. Our goal is to let every child know that Jesus is his Savior and friend.

Recreation opportunities abound at Woodlawn. Our beautiful Christian Life Center houses a full-sized gymnasium with locker rooms. Many area children and their families have been introduced to Jesus through, our Upward Basketball Ministry. Designed for children (1st – 8th grades), this is Christian athletics at its best. Woodlawn loves senior adults! Our senior adults are known as the Keenagers. This group, under the direction of our Senior Adult Pastor, Dr. Scott Bortz, meets once a month for the purpose of fellowship and spiritual growth. When you board the bus you can count on a good time! It may be a trip to the mountains or the sea, a dinner theatre or a cookout at the lake. It may be distributing flowers to the hospital patients on Valentine’s Day or singing Christmas carols to those in local nursing homes.

For some singles, life is not easy. It the goal of our Singles Ministry to help Catawba County’s single adults find fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Sunday School is a place where singles meet for a time of study and encouragement. We also offer fellowship, training classes, and a variety of activities to help our singles find friends and satisfaction in the Christian life.

Sunday mornings are very special here at Woodlawn, and one of the reasons is Sunday School. All over our campus people of all ages are meeting together to experience God's Holy Word. This is a relaxed, friendly time that not only grows us spiritually, but draws everyone together in harmonious community. Upward offers an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for kindergarten through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.

The Women of Woodlawn Women’s Ministry exists to provide avenues for deeper intimacy with Christ Jesus through the study of God’s Word, to build relationships that encourage one another to press on toward Christ likeness in order that our lives will bear much fruit that makes His glory known. We build on the firm foundation of God’s infallible Word that states, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.”

IMPACT Student Ministries exists to prayerfully equip families and students to wholeheartedly love and follow Jesus, to serve and share Him with others, and to find their places and fulfill their roles in God's family.
